Key Responsibilities

·       Product Design:  Lead internal designs through all development phases from concept to the release to manufacturing

·       Needs Statements:  Work with Product Manager, Project Engineer and Manufacturing Team to ensure product Needs Statements are implemented into product designs.

·       Research and Development:  Develop risk management, failure modes and effects analysis documents.

·       Research and Development Testing:  Manage testing protocols.  Perform or supervise design verification testing.

·       Product Documentation:  Create product documentation including product specifications, drawings, bills of materials and manufacturing process documents.

Skills and Experience

·       Proven design and creative capabilities.

·       Must be proficient with CAD and 3D surface modeling.

·       Excellent knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and problem solving.

·       Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, experience with medical product development and working with outside vendors is highly desirable.

·       4 – 6 years of experience in design engineering.

·       Minimum 4-year degree in industrial/mechanical design or mechanical engineering.

·       Dental or medical industry experience a major advantage.

Indirect Reports:  Operations, Marketing and Product Manager
