Composi-Tight ensures consistently superior contacts on posterior composite restorations. Although the product may appear very simple, there are many design features that make the product easy to use, versatile for a wide range of applications, and superior to similar-looking products.

Two tine lengths allow a long-tined ring to be placed over a standard ring when performing M.O.D. restorations. The long-tine ring is also beneficial on some larger or longer teeth.
Ring Retention Burnished flange at the end of each tine Burnishing creates a flange at the end of each tine that grips the teeth securely so they will not slip off. Composi-Tight® G-Rings® will not slip off, even when placed between a cuspid and first bicuspid.
  Convergent tines The tines on the G-Rings® taper inward, allowing the ring to grip below the infra-bulge of the teeth, increasing their retention.
Ring Material Round (versus flat) stainless steel wire Round wire design of the G-Ring® allows it to be used alongside a wedge. This allows restorations on teeth with wide embrasures by placing the ring tine on the opposite side of the wedge as the tooth being restored. Reduces time (no trimming or difficulty removing wedge). Adapts well to interproximal space for either mesial or distal condition.
Electropolished Rings G-Rings are electro-polished (the nickel in the stainless steel is electrically brought to the surface), and they do not lose their luster even after repeated heat sterilization.
Ring Diameter 2.4cm (15/16 ") diameter Large diameter prevents ring from taking a set too easily. Increases ring longevity over rings with a smaller diameter.
Number of Matrix Band Sizes Five (5) band sizes Five band sizes allow selection of the band that best fits the restoration. Keeping the top of the matrix even with the marginal ridge will result in a contact at the height of contour.
 
Pedodontic size for primary teeth The extension on the pedodontic matrix follows the natural contour of the gingiva in children.
Small band for bicuspids and small molars The small band places the contact at the height of contour on bicuspids and many adult molars
Extended small band for bicuspids and small molars with sub-gingival extensions The extended small band places the contact at the height of contour on bicuspids and many adult molars
Standard band for most molars The standard band places the contact at the height of contour on most adult molars
Large band for deep sub-gingival restorations Although not used as frequently by the dentist, the large band has an extension that allows the matrix to be used on deep, sub-gingival restorations.
Band Contour 3-Dimensional Contour Contact achieved at height of contour. No loss of contact during occlusal adjustment. Broader contact area. Reduces gap below the contact area.
Sectional Matrix Sectional Matrix Bands Easier to burnish–slides over easily. Easier to place band on Class II filling (can be difficult to place a Tofflemire-style band between the contact, opposite the side being restored).
Matrix Band Thickness 30µm (or .0013 inches) Garrison matrix bands are almost half the thickness of some other sectional matrix bands. This means that not as much separation of the teeth is required to achieve a good contact. Easier to slide band into place. Easier to burnish and broaden contact area.
