Forensic Dentistry, or Forensic Odontology, is the application of dental knowledge to criminal and civil laws, which are enforced by police agencies in a criminal justice system. There're many areas in forensics where the knowledge we possess as dentists, hygienists, and assistants can be utilized to help aid the criminal justice system in identifying missing, or unknown remains, helping to solve crimes, and even testifying as an expert witness.
